Kupang, February 2025 – The dedication of Flora Ringa (48), a housewife from Lasbaun, Oeleta, Kupang, in mobilizing her community is truly inspiring. Since joining Kolping in 2017, she has not only fostered unity among members but also encouraged economic independence and environmental awareness.
As the Treasurer of Kolping Family Lasbaun, Flora plays a crucial role in managing the group’s financial activities. Under her supervision, Kolping Lasbaun’s cash fund has now reached IDR 30 million, generated from the members’ savings and loan program with a low interest rate of only 0.5%. This fund serves as financial support for members in need without the burden of high interest rates.
Additionally, Flora and the Kolping Lasbaun members are actively engaged in providing seedlings. These seedlings are sold to those in need, including the government, foundations, NGOs, and individuals. This initiative not only promotes reforestation but also generates additional income for Kolping members.
“I always enjoy motivating the people around me, including Kolping members, to take action—whether to improve their family’s economy or to serve the community,” said Flora enthusiastically.
Flora’s efforts demonstrate that Kolping is not just an organization but a movement that strengthens family economies while preserving nature. Kolping Lasbaun continues to grow, bringing new hope to many families in Kupang.
